I love a themed snack mix and let’s face it, I love all things pink and Valentine’s Day! So when I had a request on instagram last week to put together a Valentine’s Day themed snack mix, I was so excited to make one. This is perfect for a Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day party, a movie night, or just a special after school snack for your kids.
I wanted to work with mostly things that I had on hand, so I checked out my sprinkles cabinet and found these little heart shapes. I thought they would be perfect pressed into the little white chocolate hearts and I love how they cam out. I did pick up a bag of Cupid’s blend M&Ms because the shades of pink and red are so perfect for this mix.

Valentine’s Day Lookin’ Like a Snack (Mix)
This little snack mix could not be sweeter with hearts on hearts and pink and red m&ms!

Ingredients
3 1/2 c popped popcorn – (see notes)
1/2 c small pretzels (see notes)
1/4 c Cupid’s blend m&ms – because they’re pink, red and white
2 tbsp chocolate chips (melted for drizzling)
4 white chocolate hearts
8 chocolate dipped pretzels
Directions
- Make the little white chocolate hearts! Lay a big piece of parchment paper over a flat cutting or serving board. Pour 1/2 c of white chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds and stir, another 20 seconds, stir, another 20 seconds, stir and then one final 20 seconds and at this final stir, they should be fully melted. Do not overcook because the chocolate will become hard. Using a spoon, form small hearts on the parchment paper and press a few sprinkles into each one before moving on to the next. I used heart shaped sprinkles. Anything heart shaped, pink or red would be perfect! The white chocolate will be getting stiffer as you work, so try and work quickly. Allow the hearts to harden and they will be so cute added to your snack mix.
- Take a handful of the waffle pretzels and dip them into the meted white chocolate once it gets too hard to make anymore hearts. I pressed two m&ms into each white chocolate dipped pretzel for a fun and festive touch. Let the pretzels harden on the parchment with the hearts.
- Pop popcorn, measure out about 3 1/2 cups and add to a serving tray. I try to pull out the seeds. I find that about 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels yields about 3 1/2 cups of popped popcorn. I usually add about 1/2 tbsp of melted butter and a couple pinches of salt.
- Add pretzels and m&ms. I used Cupid’s blend m&ms for the colors. They come with white, red and two shades of pink in the bag. Perfect for Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day!
- Add 2 tbsp of chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds, stir, again for 20 seconds, stir and another 20 seconds and stir. They should be all melted by the last stir. You don’t want to overheat them because they will actually harden.
- Carefully drizzle the melted chocolate over the snack mix. I like to use a spoon for this. I drizzle and then gently mix it and then drizzle again. I like to keep the drizzle lines, but also make sure that the chocolate is spread out well
- Add the cute white chocolate hearts and the white chocolate dipped pretzels to the snack mix. Spread them over the top for maximum cuteness! Serve and enjoy!

Notes
- My preference for popcorn is to add a little bit of butter and salt, but plain popcorn, just buttered, just salted or even kettle corn would work in this mix!
- I love using waffle shaped pretzels to dip into chocolate because it has a good amount of pretzel surface area to get the chocolate to stick to. I’ve also used the traditional shaped small pretzels for snack mix and they work too!
